What is refractive surgery?
Refractive surgery aims to modify the prescription of an eye using lasers, lenses, or instrumental techniques through a surgical procedure.
The main goal is to eliminate or minimize the patient’s ocular refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism using effective, state-of-the-art techniques.
Treatment
Two types of techniques are used to perform refractive surgery: laser techniques (Lasic, PRK or PresbyLasic-Supracor) and intraocular techniques, both effective and safe.
It cannot be stated that one treatment is better than the other; the choice of treatment is determined after the ophthalmologist performs a thorough examination of the patient.
